Scriptures – 5 Jan., 2025

CSB: “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”

Bibelen 2024: “Dere er verdens lys. En by som ligger på et fjell, kan ikke skjules. Ingen tenner en lampe og setter den under et kar, men på en holder, så den lyser for alle i huset. Slik skal også dere la lyset deres skinne for menneskene, så de kan se de gode gjerningene deres og prise deres Far i himmelen.”

CSB: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Bibelen 2024: “Men dere skal få kraft når Den hellige ånd kommer over dere, og dere skal være mine vitner i Jerusalem og hele Judea og Samaria og helt til jordens ende.”

CSB: “He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.'”

Bibelen 2024: “Han svarte: ‘Du skal elske Herren din Gud av hele ditt hjerte, hele din sjel, all din kraft og all din forstand, og din neste som deg selv.'”

CSB: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord shines over you. For look, darkness will cover the earth, and total darkness the peoples; but the Lord will shine over you, and his glory will appear over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to your shining brightness.”

Bibelen 2024: “Reis deg, bli lys! For lyset ditt kommer, og Herrens herlighet går opp over deg. Se, mørket dekker jorden, og skodde dekker folkene, men over deg skal Herren gå opp, hans herlighet skal vise seg over deg. Folkeslag skal komme til lyset ditt, og konger til glansen som går opp over deg.”
